Built for the customer whose large cat has already knocked over two cheaper trees. The 32-inch height aligns with standard window sills, making it a natural window perch -- and the weighted base ensures it stays there regardless of how the cat lands on or launches off it.
The upper perch runs 20 inches wide by 13 inches deep with 4.5-inch exterior walls, which is large enough for a Maine Coon or Ragdoll to curl up completely. The circular lower perch measures 17 inches with matching 4.5-inch walls. Scratching posts are solid wood wrapped in natural unoiled sisal. The entire unit ships fully assembled -- no setup required.

Is the base really that much heavier than standard trees? +
Yes -- the 2-inch thick solid wood base adds significant ballast. This is one of the reasons NCC trees don't tip: the weight is in the base, not distributed up the posts.
How does the cradle geometry work? +
The top perch is rectangular rather than round, with 4.5-inch walls on three sides. This creates a contained sleeping zone that's wide enough for a large cat to lie flat with walls on the sides -- which cats instinctively prefer over an open flat platform.
Does solid wood mean it will crack? +
Natural wood develops character marks -- small cracks or grain variations -- over time, especially as it adjusts to home humidity. These are structural features of real wood, not defects, and they don't affect strength or longevity.
