The frame is solid wood with dual scratching supports: one wrapped in natural unoiled sisal, one carpeted. Is this good for senior or arthritic cats? +
Yes -- this is one of our most-recommended pieces for older cats. The staggered three-step design means they never have to make a large jump. Each level is within easy reach of the one below, which keeps the full height accessible even as mobility decreases.
Will it work as a window perch? +
At 29 inches to the top platform it aligns well with standard window sills. Many customers use it specifically as a window-height perch with the bonus of two lower platforms for intermediate resting spots.
Can multiple cats use it at the same time? +
Two cats can comfortably use different levels simultaneously. It's not designed as a primary multi-cat tree -- for households with three or more cats competing for vertical space, the Triple Tub or larger trees give more dedicated territory.
How heavy-duty is the construction? +
The solid wood frame supports multiple large cats. The 20 x 20 base provides stability, and at 33 pounds the tree has enough mass to stay planted during active use.

I ordered this perch because I have a three-legged cat who has been using my chair to get up on top of a bookcase. Since the chair has wheels, I was afraid she might get stuck on top and try to jump off, which could cause her to injure herself. This works exactly the way I wanted it to! Perfect height to both the bookcase and the window and several of my cats are choosing to lay on the different levels. My only (small) complaint would be that at this point they aren't using it as a scratching post very much. Still, I consider it an excellent purchase and would consider getting this perch again. I appreciate the fact that Cat's Play has several choices that would work for tripods and older cats. 10/10
