The privacy-to-exposure range this tree covers is its key behavioral asset. Cats cycle through rest states that require different environments -- from deep enclosed sleep to open perching for territory observation. Most furniture provides one or the other. The tunnel at the base and the hammock at the top cover both ends of that spectrum.

The 20 by 20 weighted base keeps the unit stable, and two solid wood scratching posts are positioned within reach of both levels. The sonic tube construction for the tunnel is durable and maintains its shape under repeated use. Ships fully assembled.

Will the tunnel hold a large cat? +

The 13-inch exterior diameter works comfortably for cats up to about 12-14 pounds. For larger breeds, the hammock perch is the primary resting spot, and the tunnel serves more as a play and partial-shelter space.

Is the hammock perch stable for active cats? +

Yes -- the hammock design is solid, not a suspended sling. It's a firm platform at 28.5 inches supported by the solid wood posts and the weighted base below.
