Cat's Choice Deluxe Kitty Pad Tree
Premium I: Signature CollectionThree 17-inch tub perches, solid wood construction, double-thick base -- built for large cats and multi-cat households that need something that holds.

"The double-thick base on this tree is not an aesthetic choice -- it's an engineering requirement. Three 17-inch perches with 7-inch walls, stacked on a single post at 52 inches, creates a top-heavy load. The double-thick base lowers the center of gravity and keeps this unit stable under real use conditions. I look for details like that because they tell me the builder understood the physics before they built it."

This item is part of our premiere collection: No MDF or Particle Board. Hand-built to order in the USA using sturdy wood, plush household-grade carpet, and natural unoiled sisal rope. Built by furniture experts with over 30 years of experience.
The Deluxe Kitty Pad Tree is a perennial customer favorite for a reason: three large, deep-walled tubs on a solid wood frame at a height that works for both lounging and climbing. Each tub is 17 inches across with 7-inch walls -- wide enough for a Maine Coon to stretch out, deep enough that a sleeping cat doesn't roll off during a dream. The front entry notch on each tub makes access easy for older cats or cats with joint sensitivity.
Two carpeted solid wood scratching posts run the full height of the frame, supplemented by one natural unoiled sisal rope post for variety. The double-thick base provides the stability foundation the 52-inch height requires. Assembly takes four to five minutes. Built by hand in the USA from solid wood, household-grade carpet, and genuine unoiled sisal -- no shortcuts in the material stack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the base need to be double-thick? +
Three 17-inch perches with walls at 52 inches creates a top-heavy structure. A standard-thickness base would allow sway and potential tipping under active use -- two cats moving between levels simultaneously, or a large cat jumping from the top perch. The double-thick base adds weight at the bottom and lowers the center of gravity, which is the correct engineering response to that load. It's a sign the builder thought about real-world use, not just how it looks assembled.
Are the 7-inch tub walls actually useful or just a marketing specification? +
Genuinely useful. A 7-inch wall is the difference between a cat that sleeps relaxed and one that's semi-alert all night to avoid rolling off the edge. For large cats especially -- whose bodies extend closer to the perch rim -- the wall provides the containment their instinct requires for deep sleep. Cats that would ignore a flat platform often claim a deep tub consistently. The entry notch is equally practical: it lets a cat step in and out without vaulting the wall, which matters for older or larger cats.
How many cats can realistically use this at once? +
Three cats, one per tub. The vertical spacing -- 14 inches, 35 inches, and 47 inches -- is enough separation that each level reads as distinct territory to most cats. In practice, two cats tend to use a tree like this simultaneously while the third cycles in. For a three-cat household this is a solid anchor piece; for four or more cats, pair it with additional vertical options to reduce competition.
Is this suitable for a senior or arthritic cat? +
The entry notch on each tub is specifically helpful for cats with reduced mobility -- they can step into the perch rather than jumping over the wall. The 14-inch first perch height is accessible without a significant leap for most cats. For a cat that struggles with height, placing a small step or ramp below the first perch makes access easier without modifying the tree.

Nancy's Review
The tree shipped in one main piece with the top bowl disconnected. The top bowl had 4 screws "pre drilled" but they didn't poke all the way through to the bottom and they were kind of at odd angles. One of them wasn't pre drilled right and just fell out. There was no instructions about assembly on the website or contained in the box. I ended up having to buy a set of tips for my drill and basically had to guess where the bowl should be aligned (since the screws didn't go all the way through) then drill and pray. It was difficult for me to get the screw heads to lay flat in the bowl. Luckily it worked out and with 3 screws it seems fairly stable. As another reviewer said, the alignment of the bowls makes it hard for my cat to climb the tree. Its a very vertical jump. She usually gets into it by jumping on my desk and then getting into the second bowl. Otherwise the craftsmanship seems good and I hope it lasts me a long time. Nancy, We apologize for no including instructions. Did you contact Customer service? If not we would have been happy to help. We always reply within an hour...not days

Kevin C's Review
I appreciate the quality of this tree! As TW said, the carpet is very thick, and the beds are nice and deep. Even our big guy feels comfortable in it as opposed to being squished in a bed by one of the big box retailer cat trees. This will longer last than one of those for sure! My only complaint - and it's kind of a major design flaw - is that the way the bottom 2 beds are situated with the openings almost on top of each other makes it hard for the cats to climb to the top level. I wish I'd seen this in the product photo and taken that into account.

This is very solid, the carpet is thick and it doesn't slide around like on some of the cheaper trees. Each of the bins is nice and deep and a good size around. My kitties are on the small size but they would hold a large cat comfortably. It arrived on time, in perfect shape and came mostly assembled, you just have to screw in the top bin with the provided screws. There was a nail or screw poking out a little on the bottom of the middle bin that was sharp, I hammered it down. There was also a strong smell when I first pulled it out, it dissipated after a few days. Overall, this is a quality piece that will last for many years, I would buy it again.
