Feline Behavior LeadAt 15.7 inches wide and 23.6 inches tall, the Jessie Jr. fits almost anywhere -- beside a sofa, in a bedroom corner, in an office, or in any spot where a cat tends to spend time and could use a dedicated place to be. The lower section is a private enclosed nook with a cushioned base and ventilation openings for airflow. The upper section is a storage cabinet for household essentials.
The exterior sisal scratch panel runs vertically along one side and gives cats a proper outlet for claw maintenance and stress scratching. For cats that scratch furniture when anxious or overstimulated, having a dedicated scratch surface immediately adjacent to their safe space makes a meaningful behavioral difference -- they scratch, retreat, settle.

Is the nook opening large enough for an adult cat? +
The 8.7 inch square opening works well for cats up to approximately 10 to 12 lbs. Larger cats can enter but may find it snug -- for cats over 12 to 15 lbs we would suggest the full-size Jessie or one of our Signature Line condos which have larger entry openings.
My cat is anxious and hides under the bed. Will they use this instead? +
Possibly -- but it depends on the cat. The key is placement. Put the Jessie Jr. in the room where the cat already retreats and position it near the spot they currently hide. Let them investigate at their own pace without any pressure. Some cats transition within days; others take a few weeks. The enclosed format is behaviorally appropriate for anxious cats.
Can I use it as a real storage cabinet for small items? +
Yes. The upper section functions as a small storage cabinet -- ideal for pet supplies, accessories, small household items. The door opens smoothly and the interior has a shelf. It is compact storage, not deep storage, but it handles everyday small-item organization well.
Will the sisal scratch panel hold up with daily use? +
Sisal is one of the most durable scratching materials available and handles daily use well. The panel will show wear over time -- that is normal and means it is working. When it becomes too worn, sisal panels can be replaced. Contact us for replacement guidance specific to this model.
