The Wesley mounts directly to the wall and does two jobs at once -- a full-length sisal scratching surface for cats who like to stretch and scratch vertically, and a floating shelf that works as a perch or a place to set something small. For apartments and smaller homes where the floor plan is already working hard, that dual function matters.

The sisal scratching surface runs the full height of the piece, which means cats can get a proper full-body stretch while they scratch -- exactly the motion that makes vertical scratching so satisfying for them. It is a meaningful upgrade over short floor-level scratchers that only work for partial stretches.

How difficult is it to mount to the wall? +

Straightforward for anyone comfortable with a drill and a stud finder. The hardware is included. You want to hit at least one stud for a secure mount -- the instructions walk you through the process. Most people have it on the wall in under 20 minutes.

Will my cat actually use a wall-mounted scratcher? +

Most cats take to the Wesley quickly because it gives them the full vertical stretch they are looking for. Position it near a spot your cat already gravitates toward, and use a little catnip on the sisal to introduce it. The height is designed to accommodate a full adult cat stretch.

Can it support my cat's weight if they jump onto the shelf? +

The shelf is designed to hold a cat that steps or jumps onto it from nearby -- it is not a heavy-load shelf. For cats under approximately 15 lbs it handles normal use without issue. If you have a very large cat, we would recommend pairing it with a floor-level piece for climbing.

Does the sisal wear out and can it be replaced? +

Sisal does wear over time with daily scratching -- that is normal and means it is working. The Wesley's sisal panel can be replaced when needed. Contact us and we can point you to the right replacement material for this model.
