The wide 36" x 23" base is proportional to that height, which is the first thing to check on any tall tower. The 46.5 lb net weight adds further ballast. Neither measurement is accidental - they're what keeps this tower from wobbling under an active climber.
The two condos are designed with different access styles. The lower condo includes a skylight opening, allowing a cat inside to look up while remaining sheltered. The upper condo has a front-porch entrance with padded perches flanking the entry. This kind of level differentiation means a multi-cat household can support two cats using the condos simultaneously without one needing to pass through the other's space.

The 36-inch base and 46.5 lb weight provide substantial stability for most households. For very active climbers or in earthquake-prone regions, a top-anchor strap to a wall stud is a reasonable addition. The tower ships with standard hardware - anti-tip straps are not included but are available separately.
The product is listed at 84 inches but the top platform sits at approximately 81 inches - the remaining 3 inches accounts for base assembly hardware. At 81 inches to the perch surface, the cat is elevated above standard 30-inch countertop height by more than 4 feet.
The lower condo at 19.5" wide is sized for larger domestic cats. The upper condo at 15" wide is better suited for medium-sized cats. Per level weight capacity is 22 lbs. Maine Coons and similarly large breeds fit the lower condo comfortably.
