The cushioned shelf mounts at window height to give your cat an unobstructed view, while the sisal-wrapped scratching post — positioned right beside it — gives them somewhere to stretch and scratch as part of their natural window routine. Steps provide a safe, stepped approach so cats of any age or agility level can reach the shelf without a high-impact jump.

All components are crafted from natural plywood treated with an eco-friendly oil finish — the same material standard as the rest of our Premium V: Wall Collection. The sisal post is a two-section design at 28" total height, with enough surface area to satisfy dedicated scratchers. Each element supports up to 33 lbs, and the wall-mounted configuration keeps the footprint off the floor entirely — ideal for smaller apartments or rooms where floor space is at a premium.

How do I know if I need the left or right side version? +

Stand facing your window from inside the room. If you want the shelf and post mounted to the left of the window frame, select Left. If you want them to the right of the window frame, select Right. The shelf, post, and steps are mirror images of each other — the configuration is built specifically for the side you choose, so confirm before ordering as it cannot be changed after production begins.

Should I choose 1 step or 2 steps? +

It depends on the mounting height of the shelf and your cat's agility. If your shelf is mounted low enough that your cat can reach it in one comfortable jump from a nearby surface, 1 step may be sufficient. 2 steps works better when the shelf is mounted higher, when you have a senior cat or a cat recovering from injury, or when you simply want a more gradual, confidence-building approach route. When in doubt, 2 steps gives more flexibility.

Is the sisal post replaceable when it wears out? +

Yes — the sisal tube wrapping the post is a replaceable component, which significantly extends the life of the overall unit. When the sisal wears through, you replace the tube rather than the entire post. Replacement tubes are available separately from the same artisan — contact us and we can point you to the correct size for this post.

Is this suitable for large or heavy cats? +

Yes — each element is rated to 33 lbs (15 kg), and the natural plywood construction provides the rigidity needed under a large cat's landing weight. Stud mounting is essential for cats over 10 lbs using any wall-mounted furniture — the hardware holds, but the installation into the wall is what carries the load.

How high should I mount the shelf? +

Mount the shelf at a height that aligns with your window sill or just above it — the goal is to give your cat an unobstructed sightline out the window while seated or lying on the cushion. Factor in the step heights below when planning the overall layout, and make sure the lowest step is reachable from the floor or a nearby piece of furniture your cat already uses.
