Q: I have five kittens. What is the best way to teach five kittens their names?
A: Kittens are very smart, and as long as you're consistent, they'll learn their names quickly. The key is repetition. As you pet each kitten, sweetly say his or her name over and over again. This will help each kitten associate the sound of his name with something positive.
Since the kittens aren't always together when they're off exploring and playing, use that opportunity to pet or play with one at a time, so you can really concentrate on saying that kitten's name over and over.
Feeding time is a great opportunity to teach them their names. If you're feeding dry food, keep some in your pocket so you can offer a few pieces to a kitten as you say his name. Granted, it's more of a challenge with five, but they'll spend enough time apart throughout the day and you can use those moments to your advantage.
