Appearance - Maine Coons are medium to large rugged cats with a heavy bone structure. Mature male Maine Coons can weight as much as 18 to 20 pounds. Their heavy coat varies in length, which is what gives them a shaggy appearance. Maine Coons have a distinctive squareness to the muzzle, large tufted ears, and large, round, well-tufted paws. Personality - Maine Coons are friendly and fun-loving. The Maine Coon tends to be cautious with strangers, but is loving and thoughtful with their family. Despite their large bodies, Maine Coons have tiny voices that squeak and chirp. Maine Coons are especially good with children and dogs and have always been a popular and sought after companion.
