 Ever notice how inflexible cats can be? They devise a routine or a certain way of doing things, and it has to be exactly that way every time.
My cats have very specific rules about getting under the covers in bed. Yin Yin must be on my left side, and gets in under the blanket and the sheet. Yang Yang prefers to be on my right side, and gets in between the blanket and the sheet -- he absolutely will not get under the sheet. Mei Mei likes to be under the bedspread, and especially enjoys getting under the bedspread as we fluff it up over the bed. Last weekend I was away at a family event. When I called my husband, he said, "I think Yang Yang wanted to get under the covers with me last night. But when I lifted the blanket, he just kept pawing at it and looking at me like I was an idiot." "Did you lift just the blanket, or the blanket and sheet?" I asked. He said, "Both, I guess." "Yang Yang doesn't get under the sheet," I said. The Rules are important. |
